The Brown Covered Bridge is a wooden covered bridge in Shrewsbury, Vermont. Built in 1880 by Nichols Powers, famed Vermont Bridgewright, also builder of Blenheim Bridge, recently lost to flooding in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene. Clarendon was the hometown of Mr. Powers and it is thought the Brown was perhaps the last bridge built in a forty five year bridgewrighting career.
The bridge is a Town Lattice type truss, with a 100-foot (30 m) span across the Cold River, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places
It is located on the Upper Cold River Road, a seasonal dirt road a few miles from U.S. Route 7 near Rutland, Vermont.
